Frequently Asked Questions

The distribution reported on my fund company statement and the distribution reported by GLOBE Portfolio differ. Why?

globefund.com collects all data directly from the fund companies. Discrepancies may occur due to special cases (for example, special fees deducted before the distribution is issued to you or differences in the number of decimal places in the factor that the fund company uses to calculate your distribution and the number of decimal places in the factor the fund company sends to us to calculate your distribution).

If this is the case, you can use the following "trick" to correct the number of units you own. It involves adding a transaction for the difference, to adjust your units to the correct amount.

  1. On the GLOBE Portfolio main page, click Add Single Transaction.
  2. Choose the fund you want to add the transaction for from the pull-down list beside Select Fund.
  3. Enter the date of the transaction in the date fields in the format yy mm dd. This should be the date the discrepancy occurs.
  4. Under the heading Unit Price, click the circle beside $. In the box beside $, enter 0.00001. Your units will be bought for this negligible amount.
  5. Enter the number of units required to make up the difference and correct your holdings.
  6. Click Buy (if you need to add additional units) or Sell (if you have too many units). The Confirmation screen will be shown.
  7. If the transaction is correct, click Confirm this Transaction. To correct or change the transaction, click your Web browser's Back button.

If you notice an unusual discrepancy between your fund company statement and data reported by globefund and would like us to investigate, please Contact Us with the details of the transaction, including the fund name, transaction date, amount reported by GLOBE Portfolio and the amount reported on your fund company statement.
