Peter Hodson, a well-regarded small cap manager, has left CI Fund Management Inc. to join hedge fund upstart Waterfall Investments Inc. At Waterfall, Mr. Hodson will take the position of vice-president, investments, but he will continue to oversee a handful of CI funds. He is best known for managing the $46-million Signature Canadian Small Cap Class Fund, an equity fund that has achieved a five year average annual compound return of 10.4 per cent. Founded in May, Waterfall has grown rapidly and now has more than $300-million in assets under management.
