Stephen MacPhail has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of CI Fund Management Inc., the third-largest mutual fund operator in Canada. William Holland, CI's chief executive officer, announced the appointment in a series of executive promotions yesterday. Mr. MacPhail, who has been with Toronto-based CI since 1994, was formerly executive vice-president and chief financial officer, and has held the COO title since 1999. Douglas Jamieson becomes senior vice-president and CFO, while remaining CFO of wholly owned subsidiary CI Mutual Funds Inc. CIX (TSX) fell 52 cents to $16.58. CP
