LowFund Objectives
The investment objective of the fund is to provide a combination of capital growth and interest income through a balanced portfolio of stocks and bonds. The fund is managed using a top-down growth approach to asset allocation and a bottom-up approach to security selection with risk management as the most important factor of the decision-making process. The manager believes that stock, bonds and cash must be viewed in relation to their risk reward potential. As for specific stocks, the manager believes that a company's long-term growth prospects are dependent on their earnings growth, high return on equity and entrepreneurial management. Foreign content is utilized to invest in companies not well represented in Canada. The fund maintains a minimum of 20% and a maximum of 80% in stocks or bonds.

In 1990, Christine began her career with Cassels Blaikie & Co. as the assistant to the director of portfolio management & research. By 1992, she was responsible for the management of $50 million in discretionary, offshore assets. In 1993, she moved to Cassels Blaikie Investment Management Ltd. to become a portfolio manager, co-managing the National Trust Special Equity Fund. In May 1997, Christine was hired by Strategic Value Corp. and appointed managing director and senior portfolio manager in charge of the Strategic Value Canadian Small Companies Fund. In August 1999, she joined AGF Funds Inc. as lead manager of AGF Canadian Balanced Fund. Christine uses a top-down perspective when choosing investments, which she feels is important in managing a balanced fund because stocks, bonds and cash must be viewed in relation to their risk/reward potential. She is also a believer in growth stocks and focuses on companies with earnings growth, high returns on equity and entrepreneurial managers.
